AMIGO FP50

Amigo Vapor from Phoenix, Arizona, is fast making a name for itself among vapers. Their lineup currently includes a couple of mods and many tanks and clearomizers. They list 1500-mAh batteries of decidedly masculine style plus compatible clearomizers and also this latest high-watt, sub-ohm cell: the Amigo FP50 Battery.

The Amigo FP50

As the name implies this is not a regulated mod with buttons and an OLED screen plus multiple options of mode (TC, Voltage, or Wattage). The FP50 is a battery, but with greater capacity than your usual eGo.

Firstly, the rating is 2200 mAh so Amigo intends it for use by serious vapers who plan on vaping for a whole day without charging. Secondly, it will support an atomizer tank with coils rated 0.3 ohms or up to 3 ohms.

The threading well is spring-loaded so as to accommodate several possible tanks: a Subtank, Heracles, VCT, etc. These tanks and some Amigo rebuildable atomizer tanks are compatible with 50W devices like the Eleaf iStick 50W which are expected to create lots of vapor. In other words, the FP50 aims to compete with the big boys in spite of its compact and traditional shape.

Micro-charge the FP50

Along the side of this cylindrical power-house you will see a little slot that probably looks familiar: you have slightly larger ones on your laptop. The one on your smart phone is similarly small. This is where you plug in the USB charger for the built in cell. Being a compact (22-mm) tube, the battery is designed to stay inside, meaning there are no removable pieces and no tiny fixtures or screws you could break or lose.

During charging, a light behind the power button indicates where your charge level stands by changing color. White light shows you are at no less than 60%. The blue light indicates you are somewhere between 30 and 60%. When you drop below that, your light changes to red. Although their website doesn’t say as much, I suspect you could use this as a pass-through battery.

Add the Riptide Atomizer Tank

If you are looking for a tank to suit your new battery, stick with Amigo. They produce every piece of hardware to move up from the eGo level to an intermediate stage with the FP50. The Riptide and FP50 could have been made for each other.

Amigo’s Riptide tank atomizer will work with this 2200-mAh battery or a 100W mod and uses a flavorful BVC coil familiar from Aspire tanks. Atlantis and Riptide coils work interchangeably. Choose your preferred amount of air flow. Amigo chooses coils made in the USA.

Not sure. Initially had reasonably high hopes based upon specifications. Additionally, the owner of a frequency visited store shared his usually good advice regarding the product which he just received (still boxed not yet on sales floor/shelf.). He sung praises and sold it to me for: $30.00 but shared it would sell at $68.00. I fired it up ASAP and it worked well (it is what it is; didn’t expect miracles.). Changed overnight and it worked for the first two draws (fully charged according to information.) then nothing! Tried the usual, no luck. Obviously mad, I put it down and revisited w/it ten minutes later. Again, two pulls then nothing. Basically, it works when it wants to. Nonsense! Any thoughts out there?

Used the wrong charger plug. You need to use a charger plug with lower amps or you end up burning it out.
For example, you can’t use Samsung or Apple charger ports. This also happens with tablets aswell, if you use the wrong charger plug, they’ll end up burning out and not turning on.

It wasn’t bad when I first bought it, like you, it just quit working, took apart retightened the coil, and tried again and nothing, this system is garbage, even the guy that sold it to me now says so as well. They aren’t reliable but if your just learning to cape n stuff the power level is pretty decent. See it worked over two charges, then quit completely, tried a new coil and nothing, battery’s good, levels good for novice users with a different compatable tank it works well. I think the design of the tank/coil is this products downfall I’m seriously considering a drip tip, who h my friend used with this battery, and it worked great, so all in all dont because your paying tons for a battery lol

That’s annoying, hopefully it keeps working! I had a similar issue with a mod, and it turned out to be something with the tank.

I switched to a new one, and all good. Nothing worse than a mod not working!

The problems people are having, I’ve had too. What you need to adjust is the screw on the tank that goes into the battery. I have had it do all of these things – just blink or not work at all until I adjusted that screw correctly.

That being said – there is no way in hell this is putting out 50W. I have an adjustable box that is more powerful than this battery when it’s set at 30W. I bought this Itsuwa kit when I knew nothing about vaping – and now that I know better I wouldn’t buy it again. The tank is alright but this battery sucks.

Hi, trying to figure out my mod is always leaking from the day I bought it has leaked out air holes, bad enough can’t take it out with me. What’s wrong with this thing, dealer says I have to clean it? Everyday? They won’t replace it. What do you all think. Thanks Phil. Battery awesome 2200 mah

Which tank is it? But no, your tank should not leak. Some do on occasion, but they shouldn’t leak. You could make sure the coil is snug, and then blow through the tank backwards making sure to blow out any excess e-liquid in the air passages, but then there should be no more leaking.

    same problems.

What I found that works is to unscrew the coil, then back in. Not sure why, but it does.
